Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 June 2026

1. Who we are

Coppins Building And Construction (“CBAC”, “we”, “us”) is a licensed builder based in Whyalla, South Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. Information we collect

We may collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number and suburb.
  • Project details you share with us (type of work, budget, timing, site address).
  • Plans, drawings or photos you upload through our enquiry form.
  • Communications between us (email, text, call notes).
  • Basic technical data when you visit the site (browser, device, pages viewed).

3. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you contact us by phone, email, in person, or through forms on this website. If we receive your details from a third party (for example an insurer engaging us for a rebuild), we will tell you and treat that information under this policy.

4. Why we use it

We use your information to:

  • Respond to enquiries and prepare quotes.
  • Plan, schedule and deliver building work.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors, suppliers, certifiers and insurers as needed for your project.
  • Meet legal, tax, insurance and licensing obligations.
  • Improve our website and services.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with trusted parties who help us deliver your project — for example sub-contractors, suppliers, building certifiers, council, your insurer, our accountant or legal advisors — only to the extent reasonably necessary, and where required, under confidentiality.

6. Storage and security

Enquiry data and uploaded files submitted through this website are stored securely on our backend platform (Lovable Cloud, powered by Supabase) and protected with access controls. Internal records may also be held in business email, accounting and project-management systems. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

7. Retention

We keep project records for as long as required to deliver the work and meet our legal, tax, insurance and statutory warranty obligations (typically at least 7 years after project completion). Website enquiries that do not lead to a project are retained for a reasonable period and then deleted.

8. Cookies and analytics

This website uses minimal cookies needed for the site to function. We may use basic analytics to understand which pages are useful. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may not work without them.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or to delete information that we are no longer required to keep. Send your request to the contact details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

10. Marketing

We do not send unsolicited marketing. If we ever introduce a newsletter or project update list, it will be opt-in only and you can unsubscribe at any time.

11. Data breaches

If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

12. Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.

13. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with the “last updated” date.
